my little paris.

So here i am. Sat in the teeniest and quaintest little flat I could ever have imagined up. I can count six lamps and four candles, all lit. It's like this dinky flat has been dropped out of a fairy-tale and I’ve fallen in love already.

Everything looks, or is, a hundred years old and my make-shift bed is piles of mo-hare throws on an old vintage sofa. I feel the urge to ask Hélène one by one about every ornament, every piece of crockery that clutters my new bedroom because it seems everything in this place has a story.
Hélène is a friend of a friend, who this afternoon waited shivering at Gare du Nord for me to arrive and has taken me under her wing and into her quaint little Parisian world for the day.

We drank hot French red wine and talked about what i was going to do and she told me stories of her parties in the flat. After two hours went by, she took me down a couple of streets and we wandered around Montmarte. The streets are somewhat of a squeeze and the buildings stand tall to attention. I am already jealous of the Parisian girls, after one afternoon. They have the effortlessly cool thing down to a tee.

After hours of wandering around and two coffees down, we headed back to my new temporary home. Hélène cooked us a meal (which if i'm honest i'm not sure what it was), but i ate it all like a good girl would. Pasta and something with beans and tomatoes and all sorts mixed in against a big old leafy salad.
She is not shy with the wine either, as soon as my glass was empty it was soon even fuller than it ever began with.

I'm shattered though, so am going to clear up and then take a really bubbly bath. Slight problem with the bathroom though. Because the flats so tiny, the bath is literally just in Helene's bedroom - no wall, not even a sheer curtain. I'll keep you posted on how that one goes. Wit woo!

I'm meeting with Annie at the crack of dawn, who is who interviewed me for this amazing styling internship.
9.15am outside the Museum de Louvre, not bad for a Monday morning really. So sit tight and tomorrow i'll be able to tell you a little more about what i'll be getting upto in Paris.....

I love this city.
